This is a German toy, manufactured by 'Casige'. Casige produced various toys from 1902 - 1975.

This is an early Model "Flat" Sheet Metal Toy Sewing machine, from the early 1900's. Identical machines have been dated 1920-1930's, on various antique sites, but I've found little evidence of how to date the various models, & I'm not even sure what model number this one is.

Early Casige models were Cast Iron, with later models made from sheet metal - starting in 1910.

(Being Flat indicates this is one of their post 1910 models).

Measurements (approximate):

* 8" Wide at the feet (Includes Hand Crank Knob).

* 4.25" Deep at the feet (Hand Crank Wheel = 3.25" ).

* 7.5" Tall (Includes Spool Pin).

My pictures came out very dark, and you can barely see that I salvaged all the decals from the original machine. They are there, and while they're not perfect, a lot of buyers prefer the original decals to anything new - even when they're all beat up. This one had sufficient remaining decals, that I decided to try masking them off, and tried painting around them. Sadly, some came off with the tape, and some was pretty crackled, so even though I applied more than one coat of clear finish - & sanded between coats, it still looks rough where the original decals were.
